Exports are either raw materials or manufactured goods. Raw materials are products of the land, such as cotton, timber or rubber. Some raw materials such as iron ore, come from mines. These raw materials are often exported by the countries that produce them to other countries where they are made into manufactured goods.
Some countries produce food for export, for example, meat, sugar, or cereals such as wheat and maize. These countries are agricultural countries. An agricultural county needs fertile land and a good climate. A cold, dry climate is not suitable for agriculture.
A country which produces manufactured goods is known as an industrialized country. An industrialized country cannot always produce enough food for its own needs. In this case, it does not export foodstuffs. Instead it has to import them. It relies on exports of manufactured products and pays for imports with the money it earns from the exported goods.

ds of young people. This influence, known as peer pressure,is quite common among children. Why are children so easily affected by what their peers do,think,or say? Most of us,children included, feel a strong need to be liked by others. We seek acceptance and friendship. In order to gain them,we act like our friends, and listen to their advice, whether or not it is helpful. Some of us even begin to think like our friends, sometimes at the expense of our own beliefs and values. An example that comes to mind is the young person who gets involved with drugs because his peer group is experimenting with them. Parents may try to exert pressure to keep him away from drugs, but frequently peer pressure is too great. Interviewing Skills, by Hazel Conway
The aim of interviewing is to fill vacancies with suitable people, and Hazel Conway points out that if all interviewers were skilled, far fewer people would be given jobs they cannot do, and then leave soon afterwards. It is generally recognised that the cost of recruiting a replacement can equal an annual salary, but it is a weakness of Conways book that it does not deal with the costs that ineffective interviewing techniques can lead to.
Conway claims that the traditional question and answer interview between two people depends too much on whether the interviewer likes the candidate, and not enough on whether he or she has the skills necessary for the job.
Interviewing Skills usefully covers everything an employer needs to know about preparing for and holding interviews, such as researching the applicants work experience. Surprisingly, Conway differs from many writers in considering that applicants personal interests should play no part in decisions concerning appointments. Many might also disagree with the books ideas on how to reject unsuccessful candidates.
While Interviewing Skills would be helpful for someone about to interview job applicants for the first time, it has little to offer anyone experienced in the activity.
Hazel Conway claims that an improvement in interviewing would reduce staff turnover.
