Your choice(选择) will depend on many different things. You will probably try to find a sunny place with pleasant surroundings(环境) near shops and bus stops not too far from your friends and the place where you work.
Next you will find a good builder and together with the builder you will work out a plan. The builder will draw the plan. It will show the number of rooms their position and size and other parts such as windows doors and electric outlets(电插座). The builder will work out how much money is needed to build your house. He will work out the cost of the wood bricks the glass and everything else that must be used in building the house. Later on when he starts to build this estimate(预算) must be corrected and revised(修订). His estimate is based on existing prices but prices of such things may change and many other things may happen between the time when he makes the estimate and the time when he builds the house.
When the builder gives his estimate you may wish to change your plan. (You may also wish to change your builder if his estimate is too high!) You may find that the house you wanted at first costs too much or that you can spend a little more and add something to your plan. The builder's estimate depends on the plan but the final plan depends on the builder's estimate.

In 1995 James and Anne-Marie O'Connor decided to open a small shop selling sandwiches in the city center about 4 1/2 miles from their home. They couldn't afford a bigger shop with a kitchen at the back as that would have cost an extra $250 per month and they didn't have enough money. They planned to prepare the food at home and drive it to the shop, a 20-minute journey.
They opened the shop in May and were soon doing very good business selling food to the people who worked in offices in the city. Everything went well for the first 6 months, but then, as the weather got colder, fewer people came into their shop. Takings were down by 15% and they both knew they would go out of business if things didn't improve.
They decided to start selling hot food Anne-Marie prepared it at home and drove it to James at the shop. Everything was going fine until one day Anne-Marie got caught in a traffic.

Interviewing Skills, by Hazel Conway
The aim of interviewing is to fill vacancies with suitable people, and Hazel Conway points out that if all interviewers were skilled, far fewer people would be given jobs they cannot do, and then leave soon afterwards. It is generally recognised that the cost of recruiting a replacement can equal an annual salary, but it is a weakness of Conways book that it does not deal with the costs that ineffective interviewing techniques can lead to.
Conway claims that the traditional question and answer interview between two people depends too much on whether the interviewer likes the candidate, and not enough on whether he or she has the skills necessary for the job.
Interviewing Skills usefully covers everything an employer needs to know about preparing for and holding interviews, such as researching the applicants work experience. Surprisingly, Conway differs from many writers in considering that applicants personal interests should play no part in decisions concerning appointments. Many might also disagree with the books ideas on how to reject unsuccessful candidates.
While Interviewing Skills would be helpful for someone about to interview job applicants for the first time, it has little to offer anyone experienced in the activity.
Hazel Conway claims that an improvement in interviewing would reduce staff turnover.

Scotland:A Land of Wisdom
In the l740s,the famous French philosopher Voltaire said“We look to Scotland for all our ideas of civilization.’’That’S not a bad advertisement for any country when it comes to attracting people to search for a first-class education.
According to the American author Arthur Herman, the Scots invented the modern world it self.He argues that Scottish thinkers and intellectuals worked out many of the most important ideas on which modern life depends——everything from the scientific method to market economics.Their ideas did not just spread among intellectuals, but to those people in business, government and the sciences who actually shaped the Western world.
It all started during the period that historians call the Scottish Enlightenment(启蒙运动),which is usually seen as taking place between the years l 740 and l 800.Before that, philosophy was mainly concerned with religion. For the thinkers of the Scottish Enlightenment, the proper study of humanity was mankind itself.
Their reasoning was practical. For the philosopher David Hume, humanity was the fight subject for philosophy because we can examine human behavior. and SO find real evidence of how people think and feel. And from that we can make judgments about the societies we live in and make
concrete suggestions about how they can be improved, for universal benefit.
Hume’s enquiry into the nature of knowledge laid the foundations for the scientific method the pursuit of truth through experiment. His friend and fellow resident of Edinburgh,Adam Smith, famously applied the study of mankind to the ways in which mankind does business.Trade,he argued, was a form. of information. In pursuing our own interests through trading in markets,we all come to benefit each Other.
Smith’s idea has dominated modern views of economics. It also has wide applications. He was one of the philosophers to point out that nations can become rich, free and powerful through peace, trade and invention.
Although the Scottish Enlightenment ended a long time ago,the ideas which evolved at that time still underpin(构成……的基础)our theories of human exchange and enquiry. It also exists in Scotland itself in an educational tradition that combines academic excellence with orientation(方向).
Scotland is the right place to receive a first.class education. 查看材料
