题目
听力原文: Banker's acceptances are a very old form. of commercial credit. They provide, in essence, a method whereby a bank may add its good name and reputation to bills of a borrower, thereby making the bills much more marketable than it would otherwise be. Specifically, the mechanics of the operation typically, work like the following. Suppose that an American exporter sells wheat to a German importer. The terms of the sale are that the German importer will pay for the wheat ninety days after it is shipped. For a variety of reasons, however, the American firm may want its money now, and not want to wait the ninety days. If so, it may issue a draft on its bank ordering the bank to pay a stipulated sum of money to the holder of the draft ninety days from now. Along with the draft, the American exporter will send the appropriate documents showing that the wheat has actually been shipped. When the bank receives the draft, together, with the documentation, it stamps "accepted" across the face of it.

听力原文: Banker's acceptances often arise in foreign trade. A business buying goods from abroad where it is not well known and does not have other credit arrangements will first obtain a letter of credit from its own bank. The letter will authorize the foreign seller to draw a draft on the company's bank. A draft, or bill of exchange, as it is sometimes called, is a debt instrument. It can be made payable on sight, that is, upon presentation, payable upon arrival of merchandise, or payable in a fixed number of days. A draft can be made payable in, say, 30 days after it is presented to the bank against which it is drawn. 听力原文: Back-to-Back credits consist of two entirely separate documentary credits, but one credit may act as security for the other. They apply in transactions when actual suppliers and ultimate buyers deal through a middleman. If the supplier insists on a documentary credit, the middleman may apply to his bank for a credit on his behalf. If the middleman's bank is satisfied with his creditworthiness, the bank will issue the credit in the normal way and no other formalities will apply. However, the "back-to-back" credit comes into use if the bank insists that the middleman obtain a documentary credit in his favor from the ultimate buyer as security for the "back-to-back" credit in favor of the actual supplier. Only the middleman and his banker know the "back-to-back" credit, and only they are concerned with credit.

听力原文: The importer will require a full set of bills of lading in order to obtain the goods from overseas port. The bills of lading can only be obtained by payment of the bill of exchange (D/P) , or by acceptance (D/A). Therefore, the importer cannot obtain the goods without paying or accepting the bill of exchange, and conversely an exporter retains control of the goods until payment or acceptance of bill of exchange. When goods are sent by air, the airway bill could show the importer's bank as consignee. Once again the importer must pay or accept a bill of exchange to be able to obtain the goods. Once the importer has paid or accepted the bill of exchange, the importer's bank will issue a delivery order. The delivery order is an authority, signed on behalf of the bank, authorizing the airport to release the goods to the named importer.
